Stacy Berns founded Berns Communications Group, LLC (BCG), in 2002 after identifying a need for a sophisticated, boutique, corporate communications firm in the consumer, retail and fashion space. With more than 25 years of communications experience, she has established strong and long-lasting relationships with many of the top CEOs and executives in the retail and fashion industries as well as members of the national business media. Her extensive relationships and unique ability to match the news and feature requirements of the press with the complex messaging needs of her clients are what set the firm apart.
Stacy has created PR strategies for company and product launches, store openings, and financial transactions. She regularly advises many of retail and fashion’s highest-profile thought leaders, including executives at Li & Fung, Financo, Telsey Advisory Group and The Doneger Group. Her transactional work includes M&A deals, private equity investments, IPOs and other financial announcements.
Stacy’s innate sense of what the story is enables her to consistently present a well-defined position and unified message to each corporate audience, whether clients, investors or other key stakeholders. She has developed and implemented strategic corporate communication programs for high-profile brands such as Donna Karan, Saks Fifth Avenue and Gucci, and has developed and executed corporate visibility campaigns for more than 200 public and private companies.
Throughout the years, Stacy has played an instrumental role in some of the most significant conferences and events in fashion and retail, including the World Retail Congress, Financo’s CEO Forum and several Fashion Institute of Technology programs. She has spearheaded industry events for Financo and the Father’s Day/Mother’s Day Council and has collaborated on major fundraisers for K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers (now known as Delivering Good).
Prior to founding BCG, Stacy served for nearly 10 years as a principal at leading investor relations firm Morgen-Walke Associates, where she oversaw the corporate media relations department. In 1999, she was honored with the Silver Anvil Award for excellence in investor relations and media relations for her work on The Children’s Place retail stores account.
A lover of fashion with a passion for yoga, holistic health and giving back, Stacy founded Beauty Foundation Friends with her two teenage daughters in 2010. The nonprofit empowers teens with cancer, promoting friendship, fundraising and volunteerism. She has been published in The Boston Globe and holds a BA in Journalism from Northeastern University.
